Contest Winner

Once again, your pattern ideas didn’t disappoint.   So many great ideas – my cowl obsession doesn’t have a chance of ending any time soon!

So, my plan for today was to post pictures on my finished Fuyu.  But, best laid plans and all, I hit a snag.  I was working away on my lovely cowl on Saturday night when I had a sudden realization that all was not well.  You see, I realized that instead of knitting a nice round cowl, I was actually knitting an accidental moebius.  How does that happen?  Well, when you twist your stitches on your cast on, you end up with a moebius whether you want one or not.  A better question might be, why didn’t I notice it until I was three inches into the pattern?  Duh!  I’ve made plenty of mistakes with my knitting but this is the first time I’ve ever done this. Oh, well.  It’s a fun pattern to knit so I guess I just get to do it again!

So, since I have no pictures of my lovely knitting to share, I’ll leave you with a cute dog picture.  This is Beau and Cassidy and they are very best friends and my constant companions.  You can’t have a blog with no pictures right?

The winner of the cowl contest is Angie S.  I’ll be sending you an email to get your details shortly.

We have 2 more contests coming up but will skip this week because of the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday here in the US.  Be sure to check back on November 30 for the next great giveaway!

That happened to me, too – apparently it’s going around! And, lazy knitter that I am, I’m just going to embrace the mobius. I’m rationalizing that I’ve gone my entire knitting “career” without knitting any sort of mobius project….so (eventually), I will have a mobius version of the Botanical Cowl to show off :-)

    Cute puppies!

It’s not just you!! It happened to me on my sample for Natsu. You’ve just got (try!) to think how much more value you are going to get out of that skein of gorgeous yarn now that you get to spend a few extra hours knitting it :) Congratulations to Angie S.
