Do you remember all these boxes from last week? They were full of things that are now available at Doodlebug Yarn.
Here’s what’s new this week:
In January, Knit Picks decided to start allowing yarn shops to carry their needles and I just new that I had to add them. I love the pointed tips and they are a great value.
Knit Picks Options sets in Zephyr Acrylic, Nickel Plate and Harmony Wood are interchangeable sets. Each set comes needle tips size 4 – 11, 4 connecting cables in sizes 24 inch and 32 inch, end caps cable keys and a carrying case. These are great sets for beginning knitters as well as seasoned pros who want the flexibility of an interchangeable set.
Also Knit Picks Double Pointed Needle Sets in perfect sizes for sock knitting. These are available in Nickel Plate and Harmony Wood. The Harmony Wood sets are available in multiple lengths – 4, 5, and 6 inches and come with an extra 6th needle. Even though these needles are incredibly strong, they provide this extra needle in case disaster strikes. Or if you’re like me, a needle ends up in lost in the couch cushions. The needle sizes in this set are 0-3 but also include the metric sizes for those of you who like to be very precise with your gauge. So, for example, there are 2 size 1 needles – both the 2.25mm and 2.50mm. This is the Harmony Wood set:
Also new this week is Namaste bags and accessories. I absolutely love these bags. They are made from a high quality faux leather product so they are animal friendly, roomy enough for your knitting projects and all other essentials, and have lots of pockets to keep all your things organized. All the bags and accessories come in a wide variety of colors from neutral to bright so you’re sure to find just the right one.
This is the Zuma Bag in Peacock. I love the shape of this bag, very stylish and deceptively roomy for it’s size. It has a big outer pocket to keep things like your cell phone handy.
Another favorite is the Buddy Case. This is a great case for keeping all your little items like needles and scissors organized and handy. The interior top is magnetized so little metal objects don’t roll around in the case. So clever!
There’s also new yarn this week. Dream in Color Classy is one of my all time favorite yarns for sweaters. This is a very versitile light worsted weight yarn. While hand-dyed, the colors won’t pool so it makes it a perfect choice for a larger project. It’s also a great choice for childrens apparel since it’s super soft and machine washable. There are both veil dyed and semi solid colors available. This is Pansy Golightly. I’m pretty partial to purple and this is such a pretty mix of different shades of purple, violet and a little pink thrown in.
This is a very simple cardigan I made from Classy a few years ago. The simple style really lets the yarn shine. I wear this sweater a lot and it still looks brand new.
Also from Dream in Color is the brand new It’s Native lace weight. This beautiful yarn is an incredibly soft blend of Kid Mohair and Merino Wool. The mohair creates soft, muted colorways that will be perfect for your next lace project. This is Absolute Magenta.
This weekend I plan to make some progress on my second sweater for IntSweMoDo. It’s Cassis from Baby Cocktails. I finally got through the hundreds of stitches and the sleeves are on waste yarn. Now it’s smooth sailing through the body. Lots of stockinette with a little simple lace to keep it interesting. I really love this design, it’s so simple but with pretty details that make it interesting and fresh. I can’t wait finish this sweater – I really want to wear it!
I hope you all have a great weekend!
Gayla
