Myth Buster

One of the biggest myths in the universe is that people who own yarn shops get to knit a lot.  Um, not true.  In fact, I actually knit a lot less now then when I worked in corporate America and spent half my life on a plane.  Being stuck on a plane for hours at a time equals a lot of knitting time that I just don’t have now.  Case in point.  I’ve been working on these socks since March 6.

I’m just now starting the heel flap of sock number 2.  So pathetic.  I used to be able to whip out a pair of socks in a week.  Not so much anymore.

In the mean time, I have about 30 other projects rolling around in my head that I’d like to start.  This sweater is one:

It’s Common Ground by Elizabeth Smith.  Starting a bulky weight hoodie might not be the smartest project right now.  With the pace I’m setting, there’s no way it will be done in time to wear this year.  But it’s cute and I’m running behind on IntSweMoDo and this might help me catch up.  I’m not sure what possessed me to commit to knitting twelve sweaters in a year.  But I did, and even though it’s a self imposed commitment, I’ll still try to do it.  I’ll use Cascade Eco Plus in a pretty color and it should be pretty fast.  I really like the lacy bottom on this sweater.

I’m also thinking about a lacy pair of spring socks.  Maybe in Cascade Fixation.  I’ve been looking through stitch dictionaries and think I might make up my own pattern for these, maybe using waterfall lace,  in a bright color, maybe fuchsia. With a little luck, I might actually get these done in time for Spring.
