Still thinking about hats…

Even though it’s still technically summer, you would never know it in Colorado right now.  This morning I woke up to fog that was so thick, I thought I was somehow transported back to San Francisco.  The air is usually so dry here that we don’t have a lot of fog but it was kind of fun to see it and it made me a little homesick.

With all this chilly weather, I’m still thinking about hats.  With two big dogs who want their walks no matter the weather, hats are a really necessary part of my  wardrobe.  Here’s another free pattern that I absolutely love , this time knit with just one skein of Canopy Worsted from The Fibre Company.  Canopy Worsted is a wonderful blend of Alpaca, Merino Wool and Bamboo that is unbelievably soft.

This is the Welldigger Hat by Polly Hammond.  This is a simple slip stitch pattern that is very warm – perfect for cold Fall mornings!  Because the fabric is so stretchy, it will fit just about anyone, children to men.

Polly owns a yarn store in New Zealand and has very generously made this pattern available to other yarn store owners as a free pattern with the purchase of a skein of Canopy Worsted.  If you aren’t a member of Ravelry and would like a copy of this pattern with your purchase, just let me know and I’d be happy to send a copy along with your order.

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!
